Maggots can also be added to your method feeder mix. They will move around at the bottom of the water to create a slightly larger area of bait to attract fish. If using maggots as a winter method feeder hook bait remember to keep your baiting to a minimum to not over feed the picky and lethargic fish. 5. Pop-up
Method feeder. A positive tactic, best used at the start of a session, it will catch carp that are already in the peg when they home in on the feed. It is worth trying different hookbaits throughout the day and having different mixes to put round the feeder – soaked 2mm pellets only, 2mm pellets and groundbait or just groundbait.
Use a new syringe every 24 to 48 hours (1 to 2 days) to prevent infection. Clamp your feeding tube, remove the button adapter (if you’re using one), and cap your feeding tube. When you’re done, rinse the feeding bag. Pull the pieces of the syringe apart and rinse each part with warm water. Let your supplies air dry.
cal_sutt. Any feeder in the margins always works for me, usually either use a small 15g drennan feeder with groundbait with hemp mixed in with sweetcorn on a size 12 hook. Or if not, couple of swan shots to a 16" hooklength with sweetcorn on the size 12 again, fishing over a light bed of hemp and sweetcorn loose feed.
